Undine Falls, Monochrome

Welcome to my photoblog redesign! Although the content is the same, I’ve redone the layout and structure with a new theme. Hopefully, it’s an improvement over the previous one. One notable change: I’ll be including more text with the images that I upload.  This will give me a chance to explain any technical challenges or other interesting tidbits that goes along with a given photograph.

Just a historical note: I started this blog back in November of 2008, when I first got into digital photography in a serious way. A year ago, I uploaded a brand new design and created all new content.

I’m kicking this redesign off with a monochrome treatment of one of my favorite images, Undine Falls in Yellowstone National Park. I was there in the summer of 2010 visiting my son who was employed by the park. I drove by this three-tiered falls first thing in the morning, with the sun shining directly on it. Although this was the totally wrong time of the day to shoot, I had to have this shot. I returned later that evening, with the entire scene in the shadow of the surrounding hills, just perfect for getting this kind of image.
