About

Rick ScheibnerMy name is Rick, and I like to take pictures of places you’ve never seen.

Living in the Inland Pacific Northwest, I’m just a few hours drive from many popular photographic destinations.  Palouse Falls and Steptoe Butte to the North. The Columbia River Gorge to the West. The high desert of Central Oregon to the South.  Those are all great spots, and you’ll see them show up occasionally here on this photoblog.  But I’m out to create images of unique locations closer to my home:  The Umatilla and Walla Walla River and their various tributaries. Local crops under fabulous Eastern Oregon skies. Wallula Gap with it’s fascinating basalt rock formations and windswept plain, all looking over the Columbia River.  Or any number of abandoned buildings that give us a glimpse of the rich history of our region. That’s the beauty I want you to see.

So thanks for stopping by to take a look. My biggest compliment is that you’ll stay long enough to browse through the archives or leave me a note if you see something you really like.
