September, 2009 Archives

A quick test shot from a few weeks ago, Not really a portrait, but I just found it in a folder and thought I’d post it anyway.

Similar to a previous shot I took out there over the summer, but taken at a more artistically acceptable time of the day.

Twin Sisters 600

Located in the Wallula Gap on the Columbia River in Southeastern Washington, and easily accessible from route 12.

This one may end up at Grandma and Grandpa’s.

Made a quick stop to the state park at Crooked River Bridge just outside of Redmond yesterday. This is the old highway and is actually a walking path now. The new highway is just a few hundred feet to the east, and is named for Rex T. Barber, a native of Central Oregon who is credited with shooting down Admiral Yamamoto in WWII.

Here’s a preliminary view of our portrait shoot from yesterday, not really a final edit. I’ll post the real thing when I get all of that done later on. Did some cosmetic editing and applied an effect in Picnik just for fun. We’re supposed to go out and do some more later today, but sunny skies abound, so good lighting conditions will be tough.

Ran across the street to the neighbor's tonight, where I'd been wanting to photograph her sunflowers for the last couple of weeks.  I figured it was as good of a time as any to take the 50mm out for another test drive.

This post also serves as an experiment of sorts.  I'm trying out a new service called Posterous, and my hope is to simultaneously post to my photoblog as well as Flickr and new Posterous site.  Oh, and all from the comfort of my e-mail.  My fear is that it won't resize properly for my blog, but we'll get those kinks worked out as we go along.

Here goes nothing.
